Back in July 2007

Iris and Olivia have a lemonade stand with friends Ashlynn and Andrew.

Our Animals

At our farm we have: Queso the horse, Lily Belle the minature horse, Abby the minature donkey, Tonka and Chevy the goats, Bob and Spencer the sheep, Lucy the pot belly pig, two cats--Peachy and Aurora, 5 rabbits--Mocha, Pumpkin, Fluffy, Scar, Brownie, 8 laying hens, 2 roosters--Peck and Jeffrey, and 5 chicks.

Lucy--the goats, sheep, and donkey love to torture her. She has to be sedated to clip her nails, or the vet tech has to lay across her back while the vet clips them. She used to be a pampered indoor pig, arriving at the farm with SPF 50 sunscreen and children's vitamins. Now she has a mudhole and eats all the kids' leftovers a.k.a. slop. Times have changed for Lucy, but she's quite happy.

Queso--he's blind in one eye and so gentle. He was donated by Olivia's summer riding camp. We soak his food because he's 25 years old and his teeth don't have much grit to them anymore. He loves to be ridden!

Lily Belle is a miniature horse, nearly full grown. She is about 8 months old. She thinks she is a mustang, and the donkey and full-size horse have to know where she is at all times or they pace and get very nervous. The kids want to walk her in the Chuy's Christmas parade downtown, so they train her . . .

Chevy and Tonka--donated by a local FFA program. They are typical goats--climbing everywhere, eating anything, and escaping often.

Abby--she is one fiesty girl. She protects everyone, and is very vocal.

Peachy or Aurora? Super-friendly cats that receive lots of attention from all of the kids at school. They are the official greeters at school, walking each child to the front door.

Mocha--our chubby lop-eared rabbit.

Iris Loves Yoga

Iris loves to do yoga. Here she is in our classroom beside cousin Isaac and her friend Nina.

Camel pose . . . not easy in jeans!

Dancing with Friends

Iris wanted pictures taken to show all of her grandparents how she spins and dances.

Olivia joined her . . .

Iris, the girls' friend Nina, and Olivia. Nina is #4 of 5 children in her family.

Chicken Coop!

A very nice gentleman donated a chicken coop to our school. We are excited to have our own eggs soon! After picking up the coop, we went to Callahan's to pick up some laying hens and some chicks. Fluffy chicks were lots of fun on Easter weekend!

Aunt Janie holds the chicks . . . mom does not.

Easter Morning at Isaac's House

Even our baby cousin Emma looks a little rough on Easter morning! Our family rule is that you can definitely eat candy before breakfast on Easter morning and Christmas morning!

Isaac knows these picture will come back to haunt him someday . . .

We Happened In on an Easter Egg Hunt!

On Saturday we went to the park in Janie and Todd's neighborhood. We = Leslie and 4 kids. We happened in on the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt and Isaac and Iris were able to enjoy the bounce house and the slide. Olivia wanted to guard the bikes under the tree, and Asa thought the plastic ramp into the house was too hot to climb on. None of the children were interested in meeting the Easter Bunny . . . We had some play time in Janie and Todd's backyard before lunch and nap.
Iris

Isaac and Iris going to jump . . .

Isaac . . . we love him so much! He loves Star Wars, playing with cars and trucks, pedaling bikes, and hamburgers. He is a great big brother.

Olivia and Iris on a windy April day . . . they love to ride their bikes.

The boys are worn out . . . Asa loves his tractor with removeable trailer. He calls cars/trucks/etc. "go gos". He loves to be with his dad, likes to eat non-stop at buffets and parties, and really loves a good movie. He potty-trained in about two days, and likes to make "hot brea" (hot bread at school). He loves to eat salad, and will beg to eat candy before dinner. When he wakes up in the morning, he likes to kick and pretend to be our donkey Abby from the farm school. He loves his tool box.
The whole cousin crew.

Olivia loves to climb. She is very physical and adventurous. Some of her proudest achievements are doing the monkey bars until her hands blister and climbing basket ball poles, then touching the rim. She is very competitive, and will run until she can't move anymore. All of the younger boys at school aspire to catch her in games of tag. She doesn't want anyone to think she can't do something because of her "size". She is a super-student, and just received her "math driver's license" at school for completing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems in a set amount of time.
Iris loves to swing super high, she just learned to tie shoes, and she is ready to kick some kindergarten butt this Fall. She likes to make books, ride her bike, take care of babies, and hold her kittens at our farm school. She loves pasta, rice, and queso more than anything. She loves fairy tales, and currently likes to cast spells and do magic tricks. Iris has the biggest heart ever, but she might forget where she put it.
