The girls started school today (8/24) at a brand new school adjacent to our neighborhood. Iris is in kindergarten, and Olivia is in fourth grade. Everything is beautiful, new, and designed to make learning hands on! Our family feels really lucky that they have such a great space to receive an education! Iris was ready to go, and Olivia is an old hat with several friends in her class already. Both girls received experienced teachers with great energy, and Olivia's old principal is heading up this school--she's awesome. Go Reagan Rays!

Asa's 2nd Birthday!
Asa's 3rd Birthday!
A chocolate dipped strawberry in one hand and a sucker in the other. Maybe not such a great idea . . .
Asa's third birthday fell on Mother's Day this year. He wanted to have a pool party at the farm. When we asked him what he wanted for his birthday, all he said was cake and cupcakes with candles that had a "fire" on them. We took each of the girls shopping for boots on their birthdays this year, but when Asa went to get his, he chose a black felt cowboy hat instead. He really loves cowboy hats, especially his "big cowboy hat" aka a sombrero from Olivia's fourth birthday party.
He spent the morning with his dad (getting his hair "cut down") while the girls and mom shopped for party items and ingredients for his farm cake that the girls designed. Their design included signs they made and baby farm animals, and as Asa loves suckers, they gave him a lollipop forest. We had lots of fun swimming for the first time at the farm, but unfortunately, after the party, Asa said he had too many suckers and threw up! He's been a little sick ever since with a tummy bug, but we think he's on the mend today.
He's really proud to be three, a "big dude". On his first Mother's Day, he was a very little dude, spending one of his last days in the hospital NICU, and mom missed him very much. Any day with a healthy Asa is a good one in retrospect!
